10 week jewellery skills classes with Marcus Foley

An introduction to the art of jewellery making (gold and silver-smithing) taught by Marcus Foley over 10 x 3 hour sessions at oneofftwo STUDIOS at Mayday Hills in Beechworth.
Marcus has nearly 40 years experience in this field and has previously conducted workshops at various institutions and studios around Australia.
A small class of 4 participants will be taught the formative skills in gold and silver-smithing with the goal of producing an individually designed saw-pierced silver ring to your own design.
This project is perfect for beginners as it has a strong focus on learning skills. These will include, sawing, soldering, drilling, filing and planishing (hammering) with the first few sessions working with brass to develop your skill set before moving on to making your sterling silver ring. Various finishing techniques will be offered so that you can wear it with pleasure and pride!

BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
To enrol, please choose either:
Deposit of $220 plus 10 x $60 p/week of
class payments to help spread the cost.
OR
Upfront payment of $750 and save $70
NOTE: Finished weight of your silver ring will have an
extra cost @ $8 per gram, with an average weight of 10-15 gram

Oneofftwo STUDIOS is a purpose built workshop with gold smithing benches and tools, You will of course be free to bring your own hand tools if you have them.
Please wear covered shoes and be prepared to tie long hair back.
If extra sessions are needed for students to complete their work they may be scheduled on a pro rata basis.
